This course focuses on a cross-cultural survey of 20th century literature from Latin America, Africa, Asia, Europe, and the United States. It includes the reading and discussion of major modern novelists who have influenced the form and content of other writers. Analysis of the writing and sociological, political, and historical contexts of the authors.
