Description
This course provides an overview of big data concepts, technologies, and applications. Students will explore the characteristics of big data, including volume, velocity, variety, and veracity, and learn how these factors impact data management and analysis. The course introduces key tools and frameworks for storing, processing, and analyzing large-scale datasets, such as Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases. Through hands-on exercises and case studies, students will develop practical skills in managing and analyzing large datasets to extract meaningful insights. Prerequisites: COMP 3322. You must have earned 60 credit hours before registering for this course.
